ISCA welcomes Legrand to PEI!
February 6, 2014

ISCA-AIDC members are pleased to welcome Charles Legrand to PEI! Legrand, who is an agronomist in Haiti,  arrived on Tuesday (February 4th) as part of International Development Week celebrations. We have a busy schedule planned for him while he is here on the Island including tours of Island farms and food processing facilities. It will also be an opportunity for the wider community to hear about his work in Haiti, including collaborative projects between his organization, Productive Cooperatives Haiti, and ISCA-AIDC. At the centre of addressing food security issues in Haiti, Legrand’s organization uses a community cooperative model, that has proven very successful in Haiti.

The public is invited to attend an information session on Thursday, February 6th, 2014 at the Farm Centre in Charlottetown. The event begins at 6 pm with a Haitian meal (admission to the meal is by donation) and his talk at 7 pm (admission to the talk is free). This picture was taken this week at the  Riverside Market in Charlottetown when Legrand  toured the processing area and the retail area. In the Picture with Legrand is Cheryl Wolters.
