During the first week of February (4-7th) Charles Legrand will be visiting Prince Edward Island as a part of International Development Week. Charles is an agrinome, or agrologist, that works with Productive Cooperatives Haiti (pcH), the organization that ISCA has worked with closely with in Haiti since 2008. He will be making two presentations during his visit to PEI as well as visiting a number of farms and food processing facilities. The work of pcH is well known throughout Haiti due to their participatory approach to sustainable development and the community co-operative model, both of which have proven to be very successful.
If you are interested in hearing more about the work of pcH and how they address food security in Haiti, you can hear Legrand at either the Atlantic Veterinary College on February 4th at 12 noon, or at the Farm Centre on February 6th beginning at 6 pm. ISCA is pleased to be co-hosting the event on the 6th with the Farm Centre Association. Thanks to ACIC to their generous financial support that allowed ISCA to bring Legrand to PEI.
